Smoked Cocktail Recipes

Smoked Old Fashioned

Ingredient List

  • 2 oz whiskey
  • 2-4 dashes Angostura Bitters
  • 1 sugar cube
  • 1/2 tsp. water
  • 1 orange slice
  • 1 cherry

* Uses oak wood chips for smoking

Directions

  1. Place sugar cube in a lowball glass and add bitters.
  2. Add water + whiskey, stir until sugar cube is dissolved.
  3. Fill glass with smoke, wait 2 minutes, then release the smoke.
  4. Add ice, garnish with seared orange slice and cherry.

Smoked Mint Julep

Ingredients

  • 2.5 oz bourbon or mezcal
  • 1/2 oz simple syrup
  • 6-8 fresh mint leaves
  • 1 mint sprig

* Uses oak wood chips for smoking

Directions

  1. Muddle mint leaves and simple syrup in a glass (bruise, but don’t shred leaves).
  2. Add liquor of choice.
  3. Fill the glass with crushed ice. Fill glass with smoke, wait 2 minutes, then release the smoke.
  4. Garnish with mint sprig.

Smoked Rosemary Bramble Sour

Ingredients

  • 2 oz fresh blackberry juice
  • 1 oz lemon juice (1 lemon)
  • 1.5 oz whiskey
  • 1 oz simple syrup
  • 1 sprig of rosemary

* Uses rosemary for smoking

Directions

  1. Smoke rosemary leaves into an empty glass.
  2. Add ice to cocktail shaker, then combine the rest of the ingredients. Shake vigorously for 15 seconds.
  3. Strain the cocktail into the smoked glass with some fresh ice.
  4. Garnish with sprig of rosemary.

Smoke Break

Ingredients

  • 2 oz bourbon
  • 3/4 oz cream sherry
  • 1/2 oz vermouth
  • 2 dashes Spiced Cherry Bitters
  • 1 dash Angostura Bitters
  • 1 bar dark chocolate
  • 1 bag black cherries

* Uses cherry wood chips for smoking

Directions

  1. Fill glass with smoke, wait 2 minutes, then release the smoke.
  2. Add the bourbon, cream sherry, vermouth, both bitters, and ice to the glass. Stir until chilled.
  3. Top with some fresh ice.
  4. Serve with dark chocolate and cherries on the side and/or use as garnish.
